Dear Mr Politician,
Just to introduce myself I’m your brand new minority in the 2014 elections. In fact I’m the biggest minority in the elections 2014, I’m a first time voter I’m 22 years old and like the 160 million others I cant wait to get my hands on the voting machine..before I proudly get them inked…. That will make me feel cool and very grown up … There is however one hitch to all of this, whom do I vote for … Now you would turn around and say well that is commonplace with all those my age I’d beg to differ and here’s why.
Let’s begin with the tallest man in the race, his name Narendra Modi. On many occasion I have caught myself liking and sharing your speeches on facebook and Youtube.. but of late you are getting a bit jaded… your big agenda, is how bad the ruling Congress is, and how the government are like headless chickens each Congressman as corrupt as the other . What you say I believe and the figures prove the point but Mr Modi you are a man with great ideas…where are the ideas for development and jobs and tarakki. Also truthfully I find it hard to seperate you from the Sang parivaar and the riots in Godhra and Hindutva.
Now let me address the other big contender for my vote the Congress party. You my friends are more interested in speaking about the consequences of having Narendra Modi in Delhi, rather than revisiting your decade in power and what you plan to do If I give you my vote
The only one whom I see approaching issues through the fundamentals is young Rahul Gandhi. Rahul , all the decibels in your speeches you still arn’t talking about our aspirations jobs and employment — in fact, no other leader worth his speech is doing so.
That leaves me looking regional but as the name suggest all of you big regional players look shallow and petty to me . You are flexible and many can attach yourself to either group the Congress or the BJP, your interest is in self read getting the best choice ministries. Safely I can rule out of my voters list.
All of this leaves me asking the questions What’s happening to the economy why is it in the dumps What can we do do bring it back up and make India smile and shine. What will our relations in the next five years be with America, China and Pakistan. What is more important to you, curbing inflation or faster growth If you ask me onions make me cry, and I’m far happier seeing jobs Steve or otherwise, so Mr. politician come on make me smile .
