modisilenceNew Delhi, Dec. 17 : In the wake of dastardly attack in Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to schools across India to observe two minute s of silence on Wednesday as a mark of solidarity.

Prime Minister Modi, earlier on Tuesday, also had a telephonic conversation with his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif and offering deepest condolences and all assistance in the hour of misery.

“In the wake of dastardly attack in Pakistan, I appeal to schools across India to observe 2 mins of silence tomorrow as a mark of solidarity,” tweeted Prime Minister Modi.

“Spoke to PM Nawaz Sharif over the telephone. Offered my deepest condolences on the dastardly terror attack in Peshawar,” he added.

“India stands firmly with Pakistan in fight against terror. Told PM Sharif we are ready to provide all assistance during this hour of grief,” he said in a series of tweetes.

Prime Minister Modi also hoped that the children who had witnessed the horrific attack and loss of their friends would come through this trauma through counselling.

During his telephonic talk with Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Modi said that this moment of shared pain and mourning is also a call for India and Pakistan and all those who believe in humanity to join hands to decisively and comprehensively defeat terrorism.

The banned terrorist outfit Tehrik-i- Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Tuesday attacked the Army Public School in Peshawar, leading to the death of 131 people, including at least 100 students.

According to reports, the terrorists stormed the Peshawar school dressed as Frontier Corps’ officers. One of the militants reportedly blew himself up, while the others were gunned down by security agencies. Hundreds of people were taken hostage within the school premises before the terrorists were eliminated. However, the presence of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) throughout the school reportedly hampered the speed of the evacuation of the hostages.

Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asim Bajwa took to twitter to express his grief at the attack, adding that the terrorists were the enemies of humanity.

Manmohan-SinghPrime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday left for home after attending the eighth G20 Summit in Russia during which he asked the world leaders to show collective committment for restoring robust growth in emerging markets. During the two-day Summit in Russia attended by the world’s top leaders including US President Barack Obama and host Vladimir Putin, Singh declared that India has been affected by currency volatility in the past few weeks and was taking steps to finance the current account deficit in an environment that is seen to be friendly for stable foreign capital flows. He also called for extensive consultations within the G-20 grouping to tackle the current currency crisis. During his intervention in the Second Working Session of the G-20 Summit, Prime Minister Singh pitched for devising innovative financing schemes to promote infrastructure in developing countries to create jobs.

He also made a strong case for avoiding new measures to restrict international mobility of professionals, arguing it could stifle global growth in the coming years. Singh also met Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso on the sidelines of the Summit and the two leaders decided to expand bilateral currency swap. The Prime Minister also opposed any unilateral military action against Syria without UN authorisation and condemned the use of chemical weapons whether in Syria or anywhere in the world. Singh has attended all the previous G20 summits since the first meet in Washington in 2008

P-ChidambaramGrappling with the stressed economy , Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday said “hard decisions” would be taken in the next few days and weeks to trim wasteful expenditure and curb import of “inessential” items. “We are going through a period of stress…we have to take some hard decisions. Many of these measures are being taken, and many measures will be announced in next few days and weeks. Some measures to curb import inessential items will also be announced. “All these measures taken together will have beneficial impact”, he said, winding up a debate on Appropriation Bill in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of Parliament. Describing inflation as the worst form of taxation which hit the poorest the most, he said, the government would be coming out with more measures to deal with the price situation. On the issue of hiking oil prices in the backdrop of rising prices in the international market and rupee depreciation, Chidambaram said “no decision has been taken and no decision will be taken in haste” and the government will weigh pros and cons before announcing any step.Responding to the suggestion for cutting taxes on petroleum products, he said the matter could be considered provided states too agree to reduce the incidence of tax on oil goods.Attributing the sudden fall in the value of rupee to the May 22 announcement of the US Federal Reserve regarding withdrawal of monetary stimulus, he said the government will take more measures to increase flow of capital to contain volatility in forex market. .

amit shah3After PM MODI sent his man Friday to reorganise a bruised and broken BJP in UTTAR PRADESH . He played a key role in the historic win for the party in lok Sabha elections because ” AMIT BHAI ” is constantly measuring up people and issues for his ” “SAHEB “.

Born in MUMBAI 1964 , he was elected MLA from Gujarat sarkhej in four consecutive elections . He later shifted his constituency to NARAPURA assembly in2012 . His first meeting with PM MODI happened in 1982 in AHEMDABAD RSS circles when PM MODI was an RSS pracharak .

Both shah and his mentor held GUJARAT with a firm hand since 2003 , when he was inducted as the youngest minister in his cabinet with the distinction of holding many portfolios such as home , civil defence , law and justice , legislative , excise , transport , prohibition and many more . Considered a invaluable deputy to any NETA he has taken less than a year to catapult himself to the party’s supremo on the national stage .

SHAH’ s no-nonsense style functioning which includes doing a through homework before meetings to ensure that he has his way , he has won several admirers within the BJP and RSS .

The Supreme Court had clubbed the three cases in which CBI had framed milder charges against SHAH . The CBI had already exonerated him in the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case .

Now with JHARKHAND , MAHARASTRA , HARYANA scheduled to go to polls later this year , the newly elected BJP president AMIT SHAH will now have a herculent task to bring the BJP into power in all the three states.

Aj67New Delhi Dec. 17 : Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday released the Governement of India’s calendar for the year 2015 and said that it is a convergence of two of the government’s mainstream projects- ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Digital India’.

“It is the official calendar of the Government of India, however it has wide acceptability outside the scope of the Government as well. This year’s calendar enjoys the convergence of two of the Government’s mainstream projects. The first one is a social programme ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ which is reflected in the visuals of the calendar,” said Jaitley.

“I am positive of the fact that wherever the calendar will be displayed, it will send out a message in the favour of ‘Swachh Bharat’. I am affirmative that this calendar is going to make important contributions in furthering the social cause,” he added.

Addressing the gathering, Jaitley further stated that for the first time the calendar will also be released in a digital format which is keeping in line which the second project of the government- ‘Digital India’.

“The second programme is a developmental and an economic one- Digital India. Keeping in line with the project the calendar will also be released in a digital format. This release in a digital format changes the design of the calendar, in effect, making it freely available over the internet through the means of technology and something that can be kept on your person 24 hours a day,” said Jaitley.

“Along with the calendar, one can also keep themselves updated about all the latest happenings in the government through the means of various applications,” he added.

On Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi had said that India is no longer known as the land of black magic and snake charmers and had added that that it was time for a ‘Digital India’ and the idea will be used to revolutionize health and education in India by assuring the use of broadband for education for rural areas, and telemedicine for the poor.

This pan-India programme was proposed by the Centre on July 10 to bridge the divide between digital ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ was launched nationwide to focus on sanitation, hygiene and waste management. The aim of the movement is to make India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
