Making his first foreign trip after becoming the prime minister narendra modi arrived in Bhutan to a gala welcome and to take BHARAT TO BHUTAN ( B2B ) up several notches .
His decision to make Bhutan his first destination was the latest in a series of unconventional policy choices by the PM. He had earlier invited all the SAARC leaders to his inauguration and has exchanged in maintaining good relations with all the SAARC nations .
In a joint session in BHUTAN parliament he said ” I have travelled to Bhutan with immense happiness and a strong desire to further strengthen our already strong bond “
He offered assistance in setting up digital library of 2 million books and said scholarships to students from BHUTAN would be now worth ₹2cr
He also layed the foundation for a 606 megawatt hydroelectric power station part of an energy cooperation to complete demand in Bhutan and India .
He also laid emphasis on making our satellite technology and space technology better with BHUTAN .
Indian government aims to make India a good foreign investor across ASIA .
